If you are in the market for a practical, well-rounded sedan that can just as easily handle your commute as your weekend adventures, then the Toyota Camry could be perfect for you. Toyota's Camry consistently ranks as one of the top-selling sedans in America, for a number of years now, and the 2017 Camry looks to continue this impressive streak with its fuel-efficient engine, well-appointed cabin, and highly affordable price. Together, all of these Camry characteristics provide exceptional value to drivers and families. To see the latest Toyota Camry mid-size sedan near Portland visit Toyota of Portland. In fact, if you are ready to shop for a new 2017 Toyota Camry in Portland today, then why not shop our online inventory right now?

The Toyota Camry is the mid-size sedan that all others have been chasing for years. Let's see how one of its chief rivals, the Honda Accord sedan, compares to America's best-selling mid-size car.

Fuel Economy

Today, drivers of mid-size sedans expect impressive fuel economy from their cars; in fact, many drivers expect to find fuel efficiency that is on par with compact and subcompact cars from just a few years ago. With Toyota's 2017 Camry, you will get fuel economy and so much more. With its 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, paired with its standard 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2017 Toyota Camry earns up to an EPA-estimated 24 miles per gallon around town and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. In comparison, the 2017 Honda Accord's standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, which is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox in base trim, offer an EPA-estimated 23 city and 32 highway miles per gallon. If you want the smooth shifting of an automatic like the one that comes standard on the 2017 Camry, well, you won't find it on the 2017 Accord. Accord buyers can upgrade to an available CVT gearbox for more money, which will improve fuel economy a bit. Even so, the Honda's CVT doesn't provide that natural shifting feel of the Toyota's traditional automatic transmission.

Standard Features

Today, most mid-size sedans have benchmarked cars like the Camry because of its low price and long list of standard features. After all, who wouldn't want loads of standard amenities at a low price? On the 2017 Camry LE base trim, buyers will find heated, power-folding side mirrors as standard equipment, along with a whopping ten standard airbags. Compare that to the 2017 Honda Accord LX base model's offerings, and you won't find either the heated, power-folding side mirrors or ten airbags -- not even on the options list! To get these desirable features, you would have to upgrade to the Accord EX trim, which needless to say will cost you more. Drivers who upgrade to the 2017 Camry SE will find an Entune audio system, six speakers, and voice-activated controls for an MSRP of just $23,840 (excluding a destination charge). In the comparable 2017 Honda Accord Sport trim, buyers would have to pay a starting MSRP of $24,415 (again, excluding destination charge), but even there, they would be left disappointed; the Accord Sport comes with only four speakers -- and the voice-control functions are not available at that trim level. As you can see, when it comes to standard features and value, it is tough to top the new Toyota Camry!

Passenger Comfort

When choosing a new mid-size sedan, a common request from drivers and passengers alike is that it is comfortable and easy to ride in for those long drives. Of course, the comfort of a vehicle's cabin goes well beyond the support or material of the seats. Factors like the spaciousness of the cabin for driver and every passenger plays into overall comfort, too -- especially on those long trips! Second-row passengers in the 2017 Toyota Camry get ample headroom at over 38 inches, along with a spacious 38.9 inches of rear legroom. If you were to choose the 2017 Accord instead, your rear-seat passengers would feel more squished, as it offers less rear headroom and legroom than the Camry. When you want an exceptionally spacious and comfy cabin in your next mid-size car, drive the 2017 Camry!
